Frequently Asked Questions

Services

  • What's the difference between in-person and online sessions?
Both in-person and online sessions are rooted in a somatic approach and nervous system regulation. In either format, we move at the pace of your body’s wisdom, creating a safe, grounded space where your system can settle, reorganize, and access its natural capacity to heal.

In-person sessions are hands-on and table-based, using CranioSacral Therapy and therapeutic touch to support physical unwinding and emotional integration. Online sessions offer the same depth of presence and therapeutic intention without physical touch, weaving guided meditation, somatic tracking, imagery, and integrative dialogue to gently explore patterns and reconnect you with your inner resources.

  • How many sessions are usually normal for one course of Craniosacral Therapy?
Everyone is different, and the course of treatment is different depending on goals, health concerns, and other therapeutic experiences, among other variables. We suggest starting with 3 sessions, no more than 2 weeks apart, and then consulting with your practitioner on the best path forward for you.

  • How do I get started?
Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form to book a session or a free consultation call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

  • What do I expect after the session?
Art of Flow sessions continue to unfold even after you leave the table or the screen, so the way you care for yourself afterward can support deeper integration.

CranioSacral Therapy, SomatoEmotional Release, and the other somatic practices we use are gentle, non-force techniques. They help your nervous system settle, unwind old patterns, and create space for your natural self-regulation to return.

After a session, your body may continue releasing, reorganizing, or softening for hours or even days. You might notice:

    • A deeper, easier breath

    • A sense of inner flow or grounding

    • More clarity, intuition, or emotional ease

    • Memories or insights surfacing

    • Feeling more connected to your body or inner guidance

All of these responses are normal. Simply allow them to move through.

If you would like to read more about how to support integration, please go to after session care.

  • Can I receive bodyworks during pregnancy?
Yes. Craniosacral Therapy and other gentle bodywork are safe throughout pregnancy. As a certified in pre- and post-natal massage therapist, I offer massages beginning in the second trimester.

Payment & Financial Information

  • What forms of payment do you accept?
As a small business, we’re making an effort to move away from supporting large banks and credit card companies. Whenever possible, we kindly ask that payments be made via Cash, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or Check.
A valid card will still be required on file to secure your appointment and to cover any late cancellation or no-show fees. If you prefer to use a standard credit card (or debit card run as credit) for payment, a 3.5% processing fee will be added at checkout when the card on file is charged.

  • Do you offer gift cards?
Yes, we do! For more information, please click here.

  • Do you offer packages?
Yes! We offer packages of 3, 5, or 10 follow-up appointments for any service. Packages do not expire but convert to their dollar value after one year. For existing clients, we will often customize packages when requested (such as combining different types of services or time lengths).

  • Is it customary to tip?
Tips are genuinely not expected for our services, and we hope that you invest this in your future sessions instead. However, if you loved your treatment and want to add a little something, we will humbly accept your generosity. For massage sessions, since it is more customary for people to tip their practitioner, this does tend to happen more often, however, the same idea applies.

  • Are any services covered by health insurance?
In New York State, most health insurance plans do not currently cover massage or bodywork provided by a Licensed Massage Therapist. However, some clients may have out-of-network benefits or coverage when services are recommended by a physician. If you’d like to explore this, we’re happy to share the information you need so you can check directly with your insurance provider.

Policies

  • What is the cancellation policy?
While we understand that life can be unpredictable, your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves an opening that could have been offered to another client in need. Due to our specialized focus, most of our clients book well in advance, and last-minute cancellations make it difficult to offer the spot to someone else. As such, we maintain a strict cancellation and rescheduling policy and require 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment time will be charged in full. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Is my privacy protected?
Yes, absolutely.  What you share in your sessions stays private — always.
